SECURITY
SPS Parking treats the security of its patrons and their vehicles as its first priority. To ensure that SPS offers the highest levels of safety and security, they utilize the following:
On-site Supervisors
Our parking facilities are staffed 24/7/365 with security supervisors and guards. Their chief responsibilities are to ensure the safety and security of our customers and their property. The supervisors and guards are on duty to assist our customers with jump starts, flat tires, and lost/found items as well. All of our staff are certified security officers as per the New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA), where they are trained in Homeland Security, Communications/Emergency Response, Asset Protection, Theft Prevention, and Fire Prevention. Our staff is also First Aid certified as well.
Secure Entry Points/ Secure Perimeter Fencing
Each user is assigned a "swipe" card assigned to them. This card is used for access and egress and usage is traceable in reports. The lots are all surrounded by chain-linked fencing with razor wire and guard rails. This ensures entry to our lots can only occur via our secure entry points. The entry points to our lots are protected by gate arms and tiger teeth. The tiger teeth ensure a vehicle can only enter and exit once granted electronic access. All entry and exits from the lot are recorded by our security cameras.
Cardinal Central Station, our sister company, operates a central security monitoring facility at our administrative offices in Newark, NJ. The lots have security cameras that relay video to Cardinal Central Station where the video is monitored around the clock by S.O.R.A.–certified (Security Officers Registration Act) monitoring technicians.
Cardinal Central Station serves as the security and customer service hub for clients utilizing our parking facilities. S.O.R.A. (Security Officers Registration Act) certified monitoring technicians operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ensuring that our premises are secure, answering customer call-boxes at our facilities, investigating incidents and working with lot supervisors to provide an extraordinary level of service. There are over 100 cameras covering our parking facilities, including PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) cameras that the technicians can operate manually from our central station. The video is sent back to our central station and stored in secure servers for up to 30 days. From there, the technicians can use state of the art equipment to investigate incidents utilizing motion detection technology, reviewing swipe card records and video and/or use high-resolution mega-pixel IP cameras which are sophisticated enough to read license plates.
